Three Fleur De Lys "Wish you were here" Fashion Event

During my first week back home I attended a wonderful event after being invited my my homegirl Rhonesha "Nesha". It was the first of many summer pop-up shops across the city this summer. A combination of amazing new designers showcased their designs in a theme of tropical paradise inspired by Normandy French Beach of the 1930's while enjoying music, cupcakes, drinks and fashion. The event featured 

Yana Handbags, Death by Drone, Ave Swim Wear, Jackie Brown Swim Wear and Priti Organic Non-Toxic Nail Polish. I was impressed with the design aesthetic

Yana the creator of Yana Handbags, is a new designer on the scene, after realizing that creating was cheater than feeding her expensive appeti

gs. She decided to dive into the art of handmade handbags. That featured handmade metal clasp, looking similar to the classic door knocker earrings and classic quilt fabric. Her material all comes from scraps that other companies have thrown away. A convenient and eco-friendly way to create art. The most recent design was a fanny pack. Another designer, Death by Drone, which just started this season and released her fall 2009  collection to all the attendees of the event. Her designs we let

 me just say me!!! The collection featured dresses, shirts, skirts a entire wardrobe. All designs where 1920's childlike and misfit fashion. The highlight was a slick white 1950's inspired silhouette dress, with a illustration of a child blowing bubbles of multicolored rubies. I love meeting new designers fresh in the scene of fashion and expressing themselves in different ways. The event featured many new ideas for the coming fall season. Look out for these wonderful designers they might be coming to your neighborhood.
