In the News

The University of Delaware students were asked to design costumes for the Spring show for the Mid-Atlantic Ballet a non-profit ballet conservatory in Newark, Delaware. Seven students worked on the project over the span of 4 weeks. Four weeks was defiantly not enough time but the the girls got it done.

The students were asked to design and sew the garments for the entire case of the new ballet, Persephone. The deisgners of the garment were Ali Thompson, Erin am Ende, Stephanie Scull, Mishqua Allie- Tate and Amy Witlock. There assistants in sewing and cutting were Samantha Grandy and myself.

It was a great opportunity of the designers who are all senior fashion design majors. The garments had to get completed quickly and many were forced to deal with resizing . It was a interesting experience for myself to have to cut 16 flowered shirt petals and serge all of them. My hands were extremely tired but it was worth it.

The ballet was a success performances were held March 27th and 28th and all of the dancers performed gracefully in their handmade costumes.
