NYC Trip to Premiere

Here are a few pictures from our field trip to Premiere Vision in New York City. Premiere Vision is a show to display textile distributers from around the world, it takes place twice a year in Paris and New York City. It was free to students around a certain time and it was an experience that I think all Fashion majors should take advantage of, hello it was free.

Overwhelming at first but everyone was friendly and welcomed any questions we might have had. We were not allowed to take pictures so I am not able to show you the inside action but just envision rows of cubicles with fabric of all kinds. There were intimate fabrics, business fabrics, casual fabrics, and even trimmings to choose from. There was everything from intricate floral patterns to eco-friendly fabric from Japan.
The main highlight of the event is the color wall. That showed the colors for Spring/Summer 2010. All designers relay on this information to be up to date on what is new and not to be out of date. Yes, I know what will be in and what is yesterdays news, all this power for free. Next time it comes to town you should take advantage of it.
